nms medium refiner

How do I unlock medium and large refiner?

I've been reading around about them, being unlocked and all, but what quest do I need to complete to unlock them?

I played the Artemis questline until The Purge (reset the simulation) . How far off am I, or am I missing something?

You have to progress the base building storyline... build a proper base and it will have you hire workers for you base and one of the workers grants the large refiner.

that quest is bugged for me, if I mark it as active, when I close the menu it just spams with notifications in the bottom-right corner and basically nothing happens, even when scanning a system, it tells me I found a suitable base location but doesn't mark it at all.

I don't have a base building quest anymore... It ended after I built the blueprint analyzer or something.

Stuck with the 'archive base computer' quest thing. I cannot tell you how frustrating it is. Yes - I have tried everything thats been posted. I'm about to scrap my first ever playthru in an attempt to get it unf'ed. Meh, 20 hours. My last attempt is going to be flying to every single planet I stuck a base computer and delete it. here's hoping.

I had the same problem with my freighter in orbit over my base. If I was in my base, the quest marker would tell me to go to the computer on the freighter. When I was on the freighter, it would tell me to go to the computer in my base.

Warping my freighter to another system seemed to clear up the problem for me.

I can't get the medium refiner, either. The little mini-station guys only give me daily stuff.

Did you ever get this resolved, or did you conclude the game needs a patch?

Didn't solve anythig yet and I really think a patch for this would fix it. Try progressing the base storyline and see what happens, maybe you'll come across it

It's been 21 days since the last comment, and there have been several patches. Has anyone been able to get the refiner yet on a legacy save? I still am unable to myself. My save has 137 hours played and all missions are done including rebuilding old base missions.

Huh, weird? I just got it in one of the more recent patches, as a base building thing. When I first saw it I thought that everyone got it :/

Try building a cylindrical room. For some weird reason that seems to trigger the base building missions. At least it has for friends of mine that couldn't get theirs going any other way.

I'm stuck in this same situation. I tried this and unfortunately couldn't get it to work :/ Does anyone else have any ideas?
